4-Day Fiber Optics Hands-ON
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The 4-Day Hands-ON Fiber Optics course explains more on fiber optics transmission concept, safety aspects in handling optical fiber and the latest applications using fiber optics as its main medium of transmission.
This hands-on course stress more on
- main course of fiber optics extrinsic and intrinsic losses
- recommended guidelines to avoid unnecessary additional losses in handling fiber optics
- troubleshooting fiber optics faults using OTDR
- testing and commissioning of fiber optics cabling as per TIA/EIA guidelines
If you would like this 4-Day Hands-On Course to be claimable under Malaysia's Human Resource Development Fund or HRDF please do let us know.
OUR GOALS
Those who attended Our 4-Day Fiber Optics Hands-ON are either the end-users of fiber optics network or the contractors or subcontractors doing installation and testing of fiber optics cabling works.
Based upon our participants feedback on installation & testing of fiber optics, it is safe to conclude that majority of the end-users or contractors were not aware of TIA/EIA standard testing procedures plus the allowance of acceptance testing analysis data. The test gears being used at site during testing were merely to show to clients that fiber optics indeed in good working condition by showing OTDR charts. But most end-users or contractors have no clues what those charts were all about and unable to clarify or verify the condition of tested fiber optics
Our main goal is to let our participants to be informed of international TIA/EIA testing standard procedures by using the proper fiber optics test gears and tools as recommended accordingly.
By the end of the course our participants as the end-users of fiber optics network should be able to read and analyse testing data presented to them by respective fiber optics cabling contractors and able to decide the proper acceptance testing values.
On the other hand, to our participants as fiber optics cabling contractors should be able to render their services professionally and provide the proper and required testing documentation as per TIA/EIA standards and most importantly to gain trust and confidence from their clients.
